    Role Summary

  • The role is within the F[P]SO Operations Business Controller’s Team and reports to the Lead Cost Controller.
  • As a key member of the team, the Cost Controller is involved in the collation and co-ordination of Management Information (MI), data analysis and delivery of accurate and timely management reports on a regular and ad-hoc basis. The role requires a focused and committed personnel with attention to detail with the ability to trouble shoot issues as they arise.
  • Responsible for the preparation of budgets, cash flows and projections/latest estimates with on-going monthly monitoring and analysis of variances, identifying any cash shortfalls well in advance.

    Principal Accountabilities

  • Management Reporting
    • The primary role purpose is reporting and analytics;
    • Design, production and dissemination of quality, insightful and timely, monthly or quarterly reports derived from management systems and other data sources;
    • Ad hoc financial (reporting and MI) queries;
    • Maintain the integrity of the MI process with detailed review and data cleansing to ensure all data and reports are accurate, current, complete and consistent;
    • Apply critical reasoning to bring clarity and insight to all MI Reports;
    • Work closely with the wider teams including finance, tax, internal audit, risk management, compliance etc.
  • Budget, Forecast & Cash Flow
    • Develop and maintain Budget, Forecast & Cash Flow for F[P]SO Operations and able to build in assumptions from available information;
    • Ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of Actual and Latest Estimates, commitments, allocation of all costs in compliance with accounting policies and procedures, in close consultation with the wider F[P]SO Business Controllers Team and Project Leaders/Budget Holders.
  • Records Management
    • Develop and implement records management program for the filing, protection, and retrieval of records, and assure general compliance within the F[P]SO Operations Business Controllers Unit;
    • Design, evaluate, and recommend changes of forms and reports.
  • Performance Management
    • Be heavily involved in the design and implementation of continuous improvement of finance processes and documentation within the F[P]SO Operations business unit;
    • Ensure that finance learnings are transferred from one operation to another.
  • Maintain/improve relations and communication with all relevant stakeholders and wider Finance Function on management accounting and information, and other related matters.
  • Ad hoc tasks as and when required.

    Requirement

  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in reporting financial data with analytics;
  • Strong accounting skills with a good understanding of financial and operational reporting and an appreciation of the key elements of delivering high quality Management Information/Business Information. Experience in management accounting, process improvement and system development would also be advantageous.
  • Degree/Professional qualification in Accounting & Finance, or studying towards a professional qualification such as CIMA/ACCA/CPA;
  • Conversant with Personal Computing software and an advanced Excel user with experience of using SAP;
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Constant emphasis on continuous improvements and able to lead in initiatives;
  • Able to cope with several tasks simultaneously and deadline oriented;
  • Possess high level of integrity, initiative, drive and commitment with a sense of urgency.
